| Below are some of the more commonly asked questions posed by potential Consultants. If you have additional questions, please contact us. |
- What do I need to do to get started as a Paperly Consultant?
It's very easy to get started. Simply complete the online sign-up. We will then review your application, and assuming you qualify, all you need to do is agree to the Consultant Agreement and purchase a Starter Kit. That's it!

- As a Paperly Consultant, what commission can I earn?
Commissions are up to 25% for every product you sell. Commissions are calculated using Paperly's retail price on the date of sale before shipping charges and taxes, but after subtracing promotional discounts and hostess discounts. Learn more at Paperly's 2009 Commission & Career Plan.

- Can I earn commission on anyone I sign-up to be a Paperly Consultant?
Yes, you earn between 2% and 4% for every product sold by a Consultant who works directly beneath you (i.e. one level downline). No commissions are paid for Consultants further downline.
- Do I receive a discount on any products I buy for myself?
Yes, assuming you are a "paper junkie" like us and you want to purchase products for yourself or as a gift for your family and loved ones, you can purchase Paperly products at up to 25% below Paperly's retail price.

- Do all Paperly sales have to occur at an in-home party?
Not at all. We never anticipated all of a Consultant's sales to occur at a party. Instead, we believe a significant number of sales will occur from friends and family via Paperly's catalogs and website. Currently, the website does not accept orders, but we are moving towards that functionality.
We also suspect Consultants will do a lot of one-to-one selling. We took great care creating catalogs and albums that can easily be toted by Consultants to school, coffee shops, playgroups, etc... wherever a Consultant can conveniently meet a friend and show Paperly's products.
- When does Paperly pay my commissions?
Generally, a Consultant gets her commission at the time of the sale. For example, let's hypothetically assume a Consultant sells $800 of Paperly merchandise (before shipping & taxes and after all discounts): $250 in cash, $150 in checks and $400 in credit cards. Assuming the Consultant is at the 25% commission level, she is due $200 in commissions, which she keeps from the cash she received that night.
On the occasion when Paperly needs to send a Consultant a commission check, we will do so within 30 days.

- How long has Paperly been in business?
Paperly's founder started her own stationery business in 2000. Her love for paper and drive to be successful carried her far, but she often caught herself wondering, "there has to be an easier way." Thus, in early 2006, she began Paperly, to enable other paper lovers to turn their passion into a rewarding business and lifestyle, without all the headaches typically encountered when running a stationery business.

- How much does it cost to become a Consultant?
The only financial commitment to become a Paperly Consultant is to purchase a Starter Kit. The fee for the initial Starter Kit is $199 (includes shipping). Each Starter Kit includes, among other things, 50 catalogs (25 of each of Paperly's 2 catalogs), dozens of loose samples, a self-inking stamp, memo sheets in both a Lucite and linen holder, a placemat, 12 beverage napkins, 1 clipboard / note pad set and a ton of business materials (e.g. order forms, business cards, blank invitations, etc.)
- Does Paperly require a monthly minimum from its Consultants?
No, at the present time, Paperly does not require any monthly minimum sales from its Consultants.
- Are there any hidden costs I need to worry about?
No. Paperly does not charge its Consultants for credit card processing, website fees, administration, etc. Our philosophy is to shoulder as much of the back-office and support costs so you can focus on what you do best – selling and recruiting.
- How often does Paperly anticipate adding to its product line?
Paperly plans to release new products approximately 3x per year: a Spring catalog, a Fall catalog and a Holiday catalog.
One key element of Paperly's product strategy going forward is to work with our renown designers to create Paperly specific designs – i.e. the only place a customer could purchase these products would be from a Paperly Consultant.
The feedback we receive from our Consultants is invaluable in shaping the products that go into our new albums. So please keep the feedback coming!

- Can a Consultant have her own website?
